Las Vegas Work Zone Traffic Tickets: Safety in Construction Zones

Las Vegas Work Zone Traffic Tickets: Safety in Construction Zones

Las Vegas Work Zone Traffic Tickets Means Double The Penalty The U.S. Department of Transportation reports that work zone fatalities claim three lives daily in the United States. It may surprise that, more than 80% of these fatalities are not the workers, but are the drivers and passengers of the motor vehicles. Fast fact: a car driving at 60 miles per hour travels 88 feet per second, so, if you are driving 60 miles per hour past a sign that reads: “Road Work Ahead”, you will reach that work zone is just 17 seconds. It is understandable that drivers become frustrated when they must unexpectedly slow down due to Las Vegas construction delays, Las Vegas construction zone work, and other unforeseen holdups, but it’s important to remember that these instances are not there to inconvenience you; they are a necessary part of improving the Las Vegas roadways for future easy and flow of traffic. So, give yourself extra time during your commute so that you do not feel rushed when you are attempting to reach your final destination. Remember: Nevada law DOUBLES the penalty for speeding in a construction zone or speeding in a work zone, so you may end up paying up to $1,000 for a traffic ticket in Las Vegas. If you have already recently received such a ticket, and you would like the opportunity to discuss your options with an experienced attorney, call our Ticket Office today at (702) 382-2000....

“Click It or Ticket”: Strong Message for Non-Seatbelt wearers in Las Vegas, Memorial Day Weekend

“Click It or Ticket”: Strong Message for Non-Seatbelt wearers in Las Vegas, Memorial Day Weekend

“Click It or Ticket” If you aren’t in the habit of protecting your life by buckling up every time you sit down in a motor vehicle, you better form that habit fast! The death rate is rising for non-seatbelt wearing vehicle occupants, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In 2012 alone, over 10,000 individuals were involved in fatal crashes; the saddest part of this statistic is that their lives may have been saved if they had simply chosen to buckle up. The Nevada Highway Patrol is rightly upset with the amount of fatalities due to careless mistakes such as these, and as a result, they are once again cracking down on seatbelt laws by issuing more Las Vegas seatbelt tickets. Specifically, from May 19-June 1, the NHP will be gently reminding people to buckle up with their 2014 “Click It or Ticket” campaign. What does that mean to you? Well, you better buckle up in Las Vegas on Memorial Day Weekend because law enforcement will be amply present on the roads… and ready to write you a ticket for not obeying the law. For more information on the “Click It or Ticket” campaign, you may visit www.nhtsa.gov/ciot. New Traffic Signal Activated At Bridger and 1st Street, Las Vegas

New Traffic Signal Activated At Bridger and 1st Street, Las Vegas

New Traffic Signal Activated At Bridger and 1st Street, Las Vegas, So be Wary As per Las Vegas Traffic News on the City of Las Vegas’ website, as of May 2nd 2014, there is a new traffic signal located on the corner of Bridger and 1st street. This is a signal with a purpose: the signal was strategically placed at this particular downtown intersection as part of an ongoing process to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety. If you haven’t realized it yet, pedestrians and bicyclists don’t have it easy in Las Vegas. While states like Oregon and Washington, or countries like the Netherlands boast super-friendly bike lanes (and even bicycle parking garages!) Las Vegas lags behind in “going green” and in adhering to the needs of the many pedestrians and bicyclists in the Valley. While the new signal isn’t meant to be a Speed Trap, police will issue tickets if you do not stop your car accordingly. A special thanks to Las Vegas Electric for constructing this new Las Vegas Traffic Signal, with the intent to provide safer and more efficient passage for those on foot, bike, car, moped, or even llama. If you have received a ticket for speeding or failing to stop at a stop sign or traffic signal, call Ticket Attorney Law Office of Mark Coburn today. Mark Coburn is a trusted Traffic Attorney in the City of Las Vegas who may have your ticket drastically reduced. Call for your free consultation at (702)...
The Skinny on Las Vegas Traffic Tickets

The Skinny on Las Vegas Traffic Tickets

All Las Vegas Traffic Tickets are not created equal. As a rule of thumb, there are two types of traffic fines: major fines and minor fines. Minor Traffic Fines (or minor violations) include what is referred to as “non-moving violations” such as parking offenses as well as some non-severe moving violations such as speeding or failing to stop at a stop sign. If you have received a minor violation, you will be given a Las Vegas Traffic Ticket and have the option of 1) paying the indicated fine, 2) contesting the fine in court on your own, or 3) hiring a Traffic Attorney to reduce the ticket for you. If you decide to go with option one and pay the indicated fine, you will have officially pled “guilty” to the charge, and the violation will be added to your driving record. One of the consequences of choosing this option is that there will now be points on your license. Each specific violation is given a particular amount of points, and once you reach a certain number of points, you lose driving privileges. If you decide to go with option two and contest the charge in court, you will likely end up giving up half a day of work waiting in a Clark County court room before you may speak with a judge. (See the instructions provided on your Las Vegas Traffic Ticket for further instructions.) Just because you contest the ticket in court does NOT ensure your fine will be reduced or alleviated. Remember: if your driving record is less than perfect, a Las Vegas Traffic Ticket will not...

Undocumented Youths May Soon Be Able To Get Nevada Licenses

Children and teens who were brought to the United States illegally by their parents may no longer have to suffer the consequences of their parents’ choices. Up until recently, Latino youths were not allowed to apply for Nevada Driver’s Licenses due to the fact that they were ‘undocumented aliens.’ However, a new order is being set in place that will make it easier for these youths to find work, get into schools, and, of course, drive. President Obama has set into motion new federal guidelines that halts the deportation of these youths and allows them to apply for work permits. As of now, California, Georgia, and Oregon are the only states that allow these youths to apply for licenses. Mississippi and Arizona, on the other hand, have passed strict laws that prevent these individuals from becoming licensed by the state. In Nevada, those who qualify by the new federal guidelines, will not be able to become permanent legal residents, however, they will be able to lead more ‘livable’ lives here in the states. To be eligible, individuals must be under 31 years old, have come to the U.S. before their 16th birthday, have graduated or are attending school, and have been in the U.S. for five years. More drivers on the street will inevitable result in more tickets, so, if you or someone you know has had the experience of being pulled over and give a Las Vegas Speeding Ticket or Las Vegas traffic ticket call the office of Attorney Mark Coburn today for a free quote and information on how to keep your record clean.
