Teenager in DUI crash at Pecos & Stewart

This past Saturday morning in the Las Vegas Valley, three individuals were injured in a three-vehicle crash. According to Metro Police, alcohol is suspect. An un-named 17 year old Las Vegas male was driving a 1993 Honda Accord at high speeds Saturday morning when he crossed over into oncoming traffic. His car spun around and hit a 2007 Mazda CX-7 which was being driven by a 68 year old woman, Sharon Edmondson. At this point, both vehicles spun into the path of a 2008 Ford Taurus being driven by 51 year old Doel Rojas. The teenager ran from the scene of the crime but was captured and arrested by Metro. The two victims of the crash were taken to be treated for injuries at UMC. Metro continues to investigate, and highly suspects alcohol was involved. Seattle Seahawks former tight end Stevens serves a Month in Jail for DUI

Stevens was stopped last January in Manhattan Beach, California, after he was found driving the U.S. women’s soccer team van (his wife is goalie Hope Solo) with the lights off. After his recent sentencing, Stevens began serving his time. 35-year-old Stevens had pleaded no contest to DUI charges. His blood alcohol content was over twice the legal limit. Solo had been riding in the front seat of the van and allegedly been combative with officers after they were pulled over. This is not the first DUI conviction for Stevens. He served a previous month in jail in 2007 after being pulled over there. He will now be required to enter a two-year alcohol program and be placed on probation for four years. Las Vegas DUI – Man kills woman and her granddaughter at bus stop

This past Monday, a Las Vegas woman and her young granddaughter were tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident while they waited at a bus stop. The woman has been identified as Maria Garcia, age 58. Her granddaughter, Alyssa, was just six years old. Both died from injuries at University Medical Center. Police believe the man responsible for the fatal crash is 20 year old Leonardo Ruesga. Ruesga was detained and booked in Clark County Detention Center where he faces charges included two counts of DUIs as well as a charge for leaving the scene of a car crash. Police also reported that an 18 month old little girl was injured in the car crash. The car crash itself occurred near Maryland Parkway and Sahara around 2:30 p.m. when a 2005 Volvo driven by Ruesga drove onto the sidewalk. At first, according to witnesses, the Volvo hit a stroller carrying the 18 month old girl. Then Maria and Alyssa were hit. Police reported that Ruesga and his teenage daughter (who was a passenger in his car) were hiding at an apartment complex near the scene of the crime when they were discovered. Ruesga openly admitted to police that he had been drinking and doing illegal substances before he was booked in Country. Don’t let a DUI ruin your life.
