The Clark County Justice Court, the District court and the North Las Vegas Municipal court all have online access to their Las Vegas Court Calendar with the exception of Juvenile court cases which are not accessible on the web site – you must contact the Court directly. Henderson and Las Vegas Municipal courts require that you contact the court for information on cases and do not have links to Court Calendar information.

Certain information is required in order to look up cases on line, for example to find Las Vegas Court Calendar information from The City of North Las Vegas you would need to provide the first and last name or the ticket, case or drivers license number. The Las Vegas Justice court allows you to search by defendant or attorney name, and allows you to narrow the search by court, case type, and department. There is also an option at the end of The Las Vegas Justice court that allows you to check all Justice courts in Clark County.

If you have an attorney however they can check Las Vegas Court Calendar for any dates that may apply to your case. It will provide information on the time and location of hearings and the judge assigned to the court. It is important to remember depending on the court, your first appearance may only be to meet with the court’s clerk to schedule your official trial date. Then you must re-appear at a later date for your trial. So the defendant or their attorney needs to monitor the Las Vegas Court Calendar to keep up with trial dates once they are set. If you fail to appear in court at the time and date indicated on your Traffic Ticket, the court may issue a warrant for your arrest. These warrants will remain outstanding until a failure to appear clearance is given and the matter is taken care of with the court.

Thanks to online information and phone services defendants living outside of Nevada can access Las Vegas Court Calendar information, quickly and easily however if you do not plan to appear in person it is best to delegate to an experienced attorney that can handle your court obligations.

The Las Vegas Municipal Court is a division of the Las Vegas court system that handles cases involving traffic, misdemeanors and civil cases. Within this court defendants found guilty or those that plead guilty are afforded an opportunity to better their situations. This can be observed with the many court ordered programs available.

Misdemeanors handled in the Las Vegas Municipal Court may result in paying a fine, but often that is not enough. Jail is a possibility, but the court may order the guilty party to perform community service. This takes that misdemeanor and turns it into something that benefits society. It may be just picking up garbage alongside highways or teaching adults how to read. Unfortunately for some people, drug activity is part of everyday life. When it comes to dealing with drug offenses, sometimes those found guilty are sent to jail. In certain cases, rehabilitation and other drug and alcohol programs are necessary. These court ordered programs are an attempt to make the likelihood of returning to a drug filled life less likely. Classes are designed to show users how to avoid triggers and live a normal day to day life.

Many offenders avoid jail time by serving their time under house arrest. This is decided within the Las Vegas Municipal Court. With house arrest there is a waterproof device attached to offenders. They are allowed to walk so many feet outside of their set base. It is a punishment that restricts activity. It is not free and costs fall on the guilty party. To qualify, a judge has to make the recommendation and a working land line phone has to be installed where the base location is. Those found guilty of traffic violations may have the option of attending traffic school. Traffic school is a way to offset a violation or for some drivers it prevents them from losing their license. This can be important when one has a job that requires driving.

Being arrested is never pleasant. Finding legal assistance to help maneuver through the Las Vegas Municipal Court is a necessity. It can prevent defendants from serving jail time. Most people need help in dealing with their problems and jail is not necessarily always a valid solution.

Anything pertaining to vehicles is accessible at the Las Vegas DMV. This is where drivers go to register a new vehicle. This is where one goes to test for their license. If residents have any questions, there is information available at the website, but callers are welcome. It is a good idea to grab the driver’s license booklet or review it online before visiting any DMV office.

New residents have 30 days to get their license and 60 days to register any vehicles coming with them from another state. The current license is made invalid and a paper license is issued until the driver receives the permanent one by mail. The DMV will ask for VIN information on any cars or trucks that have been brought in, so have that available as well as registration from previous state.

If a driver is not from the United States or comes from a US territory, the procedure is different. They must take the written and driving tests to become eligible for a license. Teen drivers must be age 16 to receive a license. Those testing their driving skills are allowed to make an appointment. In fact, it is recommended to make an appointment because it shortens the length of time one may wait if they drop in. However, no other driver transaction appointments may be made. Other transactions are handled at the counter or on the Las Vegas DMV website.

Some employers require driver history printouts. These are obtainable in office and online. History of traffic violations and accidents from other states follows a driver, so a printout from the Las Vegas DMV will include prior driver information. Residents that are selling their vehicle must do so through the DMV. It is where the paperwork is submitted. A car buyer can also get new license plates. This includes personalized plates, as well as disabled driver plates. Those that are disabled require these plates or placard for permission to park in specially designated parking spots. Failure to have these plates while parking may result in a ticket and fines. All services do not require a visit to a full service location. This can save residents time and energy of they come prepared.

Many visitors are not familiar with Las Vegas Driving Laws. Facing a DUI you were charged with while visiting Nevada can be a daunting task. The state of Nevada considers it a misdemeanor offence to operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol to a degree that renders a person incapable of safely driving the vehicle or if the driver is found to have a blood alcohol concentration of .08% or higher. Tourists charged with this offence face a drawn-out, stressful, costly, and embarrassing process that involves multiple Courts and the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Las Vegas Driving Laws relating to DUI cases are complex and out of state defendants may find it impossible to decide between pursuit of case dismissal, plea bargain negotiation, and trying the case in court without the assistance of a qualified attorney. Facing numerous fines, jail time and loss of driving privileges on the line most people want an attorney to represent them.

Visitors to Las Vegas sometimes feel that when they leave they are leaving behind all that happened on their vacations, the saying “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” does not apply to traffic charges or DUI offences. If you fail to appear in court the court may issue a warrant for your arrest. You may also be issued a warrant if you failed to follow a previous court order. For example, if you did not pay a previously issued fine ordered by the court, or you failed to attend traffic school. Warrants follow a driver no matter the state they were issued in, and getting pulled over when you have a warrant can lead to embarrassing jail time and additional fines and court appearances.

Of course the best way to avoid dealing with Las Vegas Driving Laws is to avoid breaking them in the first place, you never want a failure to appear to lead to a revocation of your driving privileges. The best approach to dealing with Las Vegas Driving Laws if you are a visitor to Nevada is using a Las Vegas ticket attorney to make sure your case is handled completely and properly.

If you are planning to move, whether across town or permanently out of state, Nevada requires motorists to file an address change within 30 days. This is particularly important if you have any traffic tickets or court appearances pending as there is a risk that there will be a warrant issued for your arrest if you do not do so and subsequently fail to appear. There are three ways to accomplish a Las Vegas change of address:

In Person – You will require form #DMV-002 (License or ID Card Application). Fill this out and bring it with your payment of $3 for a license/ID card and/or $5 for each Registration Certificate to any Department of Motor Vehicles field office. Your new license or ID card will be mailed to your new address and new Registration Certificates will be issued at the DMV office.

By Fax – You will need both form DMV-022, Change of Address Notification by Mail, and form VP-205, Payment Authorization to initiate a Las Vegas change of address. Fill these out and fax them to (775) 684-4992. After your fee of $3 for a license or ID card and/or $5 for a Registration Certificate or license plate decal is processed, the new license/ID card will be mailed to your new address within 10 business days. Updated Registration Certificates/plate decals will be mailed under separate cover.

By Mail – Essentially the same procedure as for submitting via fax. Fill out forms DMV-022 and VP-205 and mail them to the address listed on the application.

Currently, proof of address documentation (utility bill, etc.) is not required for a Las Vegas change of address. Active-duty military and their spouses and dependants residing in the state of Nevada but stationed out of state need to provide a copy of the most recent Leave and Earnings statement.

Whatever the method used to report your Las Vegas change of address, it is very important that you do file the proper forms and fees with the DMV. Otherwise, you may not receive important communications from them such as renewal notices, and may even have a warrant issued against you if you have an outstanding ticket. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Located in downtown Las Vegas, the Clark County court is the largest judicial court serving more than two million citizens with 43 district court judges. The Clark County courts host criminal, civil, probate and family cases. Each year the Clark County courts process more than 90,000 criminal and civil cases. All records of these cases are maintained at the Las Vegas Justice Court Clerk. In addition to civil and criminal records, the clerk schedules daily calendars for the courts. For convenience, attorneys, plaintiffs and defendants can access Las Vegas Court Records Online.

By order of the court, there is no Internet access to sealed records. Records are sealed to protect confidential information from the general public. Certain case types such as juvenile abuse, adoption and paternity cases are automatically sealed by statute. In addition, the court may order individual civil, temporary protective orders, domestic or guardianship cases to be sealed. For these circumstances, Las Vegas Court Records Online will not be available. Parties involved, including the plaintiff, defendant or counsel may access sealed cases by submitting a request to the Clerk of the Court.

Court records dating from 1990 to the present can be researched online. Records dating from 1909 to 1990 must be submitted in person or mail. Las Vegas Court Records Online include an index of pleadings filed, court dates for the past, present and future hearings, official court minutes, judgement records, compete name search, and parties involved in cases, including attorneys. Online records are not available for family related matters such as divorce filings.

Because of the limited availability of Las Vegas Court Records Online, court records may also be researched and reviewed in person as long as the proper requests and forms are completed prior to the document viewing. For in person viewing, the files may only be viewed in the Clerk’s office and no documents may be removed from the file. Food and drinks are not permitted near the records. If research is required, the Clerk will need a request form submitted and two business days to complete the research. Document files can be reproduced by the Clerk as well. All fees for research or reproduction must be paid in advance.

When the rear view mirror lights up with the police officer’s lights, the nervous butterflies start in. Instantly a person review the past few miles . . . speeding, a missed stop sign, texting? The most confusing part, though, may not be trying to frantically find the car’s registration and the driver’s license. It just may be the answer to the question, “What next?”

Where to go?

What to do?

A person does have a few options when it comes to dealing with Traffic Citation Warrants. To resolve this problem with the Las Vegas Court House one of the following actions must be taken:

First, he or she can schedule a court appearance to the Justice Court Traffic Office, in the Las Vegas Court House. Even before that appearance, he or she will still be required to deposit the full bail amount (including warrant fees) or the warrant will still be in effect until recalled by the judge. Another way to resolve the traffic warrant is to contact an attorney to complete these actions for you.

Or, a person may choose to pay the full bail amount listed on the notice of warrant. It will not be valid if the complete amount is not paid. And the warrant will not be taken care of until the full payment is posted and the check or money order has been cleared by the financial institution. This method of resolution can be done by physically going to the Las Vegas Court House, to the Las Vegas Justice Court Traffic Office (located on the first floor of the Regional Justice Center), or by using the online payment system.

The Las Vegas Court House has some specific instructions pertaining to post traffic violation rules. The Las Vegas Township Justice Court accepts all traffic citations with in the existing Las Vegas Township from eight to five, Monday through Friday. Violators can pay their tickets by telephone or Internet using his or her Debit Card, Visa Card or Master Card. Or, by making an appearance in the actual Traffic Office, a person can pay using cash, Debit card, Visa, MasterCard, a personal check, a money order or a cashier’s check. To ensure that your money is going to the correct citation, it is important to write the citation number on the check.

Each and every day, people all over the country are notified of a pending court date. While most people understand what a court date is, a lot of people don’t realize the importance of these court dates. It’s sad, because there are real, and potentially serious, consequences when a court date is missed. This is why it’s important that you take your Las Vegas court date seriously. It doesn’t matter what your Las Vegas court date is regarding, you have a responsibility to be there or to have an attorney present for you. Depending on the type of case you have, there are different consequences. For example, if you are the plaintiff filing a small claims case against another party with the intent of recouping money or other damages and fail to show up for the scheduled court date, your case could be dismissed. This means that you forfeit your right to potentially get your money back. However, if you are the defendant in a small claims case and don’t show up for court, you risk the chance of the judge ruling in the plaintiff’s favor – which means you will have to abide by the judge’s ruling without being able to argue your side of the story. If you happen to miss your Las Vegas court date for a traffic ticket, there are even harder consequences you may have to face. For example, your license may be suspended and a warrant may be issued for your arrest. You could also be slapped with a variety of different fines and, depending on your record, you could even face a jail sentence! Therefore, it is extremely important that you understand the importance of being present for your court date.Sometimes, when a court date is scheduled, one of the parties may not be able to attend on that particular date. However, in almost all cases the party is aware of this fact before the Las Vegas court date arrives. If this is something you are facing, you do have options. One of the best options available is hiring an attorney. An attorney will be able to try to get the court date moved and may even be able to appear in court for you – without you having to be present. Regardless of what you decide to do, make sure that you don’t skip your court date!
